File Transfer To New PC

I have just bought a new PC with Windows 10 and I want to transfer everything from my old Windows 10 PC. Microsoft have stopped easy transfer that I did last time and using an external hard drive didn't work. I have ordered a transfer cable to achieve this. Is there an article anywhere that will talk me through the process?

TBH I would just copy what you want to move to the drive and paste it into the new computer. What exactly do you want to move? I have never been a fan of moving settings and the like, I always prefer starting again cuz you tend to do a better job than you did originally

That didn't work for my saved emails and other items that I need. No problem with pictures etc.

there should be relatively simple options to back up pretty much any app. Outlook or Windows mail?

I use Outlook for all of my mail accounts and they are all saved as webmail as well as Outlook so I never have to worry about mail

Even Virgin mail stays on the server as long as you set it all to mirror and not just download
