Is the correct BBC local news on your EPG?

Since lunchtime, our local news is incorrectly showing as Look North (East & Cumbria), so the V6 isn't picking it up.

Worth checking if you have a series link set for this.

You don’t say which region you are in, but I know that the Beeb is having difficulty in manning some of their local news outlets currently, probably due to the pingdemic.

We get South Today, and on a few occasions recently they have bid greetings to BBC Oxford viewers.

Scrolling back it also seems to have been that way for a few days last week.

The correct regional news is being broadcast, it's a listings error.

Yeah, i've manually selected it for tomorrow. If it persists I may have to set up a series link for the 'wrong' programme!

Problems with the EPG have always been present, but i've never had this before.

The BBC has taken the unusual decision to stop making some of its local news programmes for an extended period because of staff shortages blamed on the coronavirus self-isolation “pingdemic”.

From Monday, BBC One’s Breakfast programme will no longer have local news bulletins covering English regions, while further regional programmes might be at risk if staff need to self-isolate amid rising cases of Covid-19.

The broadcaster said it hoped to be able to restart morning local news bulletins from September.

That's true but this is just a listings error with Look North (North East & Cumbria) being listed across all Look North regions on Virgin. The actual Look North (Yorkshire) and Look North (East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire) versions are being broadcast in their respective regions.

Re: Is the correct BBC local news on your EPG?

This was supposedly fixed overnight. The main BBC ONE Yorkshire regions should now show Look North (Yorkshire) in the EPG.

BBC ONE Yorks & Lincs on channel 858 in Nottingham & Lincoln shows Look North (East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire) but BBC ONE Yorks & Lincs on channel 101 in Grimsby and North Lincs shows Look North (Yorkshire). Not strictly correct for Grimsby but, apparently, that's how it was before the incorrect Look North (North East & Cumbria) listing.

You just can't make this stuff up!

I live in Harlow this in J7 of the M11, Our news should be London or Look East.

But lately the BBC evening news has been showing Look East: West, which is 99% about Milton Keynes which is around 1 1/2 hours from me so not at all local.

Is it just lately? As far as I know, Harlow gets the Cambridge version Look East: West, as does much of the East of England. The Norwich version is only available in the Norwich & Great Yarmouth areas and the Ipswich, Colchester and Felixstowe areas. Luton gets BBC One London with BBC One East West on channel 858. Strange but true!
