It's stupid but this isn't new. This edited version of the song has been around forever for radio play as have many other songs. Most mainstream radio stations don't air the lyric 'He brings a gun to school' from Teenage Dirtbag for example. Most 'explicit' songs will have a 'sanitised' version as well.

Besides I doubt anyone here is listening to Radio 1 anyway. Radio 2 will have the normal version of the song.
