Networking issue
Hi all,
I have an issue where 2 or 3 times a week - my wired connection drops. For it to get back on I have to physically take the ethernet connection out of my Asus Dark Knight router. restart the router and the superhub (modem mode), reseat the ethernet cable back into the router then restart the gigabit switch that it's connected to so I can have wired connections from the switch. I've tried different ethernet cables, even cat7 and nothing seems to cure it. Just drops after a few days when it seems to have had too much data running through it Does this sound like a router problem? Perhaps the ports are dying? It is about 9 years old I think. Time for a new router? |
Re: Networking issue
It could be that your router isnt reissuing u an IP Address.
Have u flashed ur router to the latest firmware? |

Re: Networking issue
weird that it seems to be something to do with the switch or router. Have you tried rebooting the switch and router separately with the cables attached? It is strange that you have to go three independently to get the connection to come back up.
