Wanting Broadband, Taking Telephone?
I’m looking to sign up again for the 500M after not being a customer for around a year.
The best deal is Broadband & Phone, however I have no use for Phone, Does having it activated on the line cause any increase in latency / jitter on the internet side of things? I would have preferred a internet only line but it’s £62 vs £45 with phone. Also, Is there anyway I would be able to ask for a SH4 with a view to upgrade to 1Gb when available? Or is that strictly a no? |

And I will ask and see if it’s a possibility. |
Re: Wanting Broadband, Taking Telephone?
The broadband is carried on the same co-axial cable as the TV service (Different frequency bands). The phone is on a separate twisted pair in the figure-of-eight cable.

Brand new installs don't even have the telco cable installed - only the coax. |

So the Hub deals with the Calls? Again, extra work for the Hub, can you confirm that it doesn’t cause latency issues? |
Re: Wanting Broadband, Taking Telephone?
The connection path for the phone is separate to the Virgin Fibre connection.
So although they're both IP based they don't interfere with one another. |
