Issues in Stockport

We have been having problems with Broadband and / or TV going off for several hours every afternoon for about a week now. Each time, the automated response has said there is a problem affecting the SK7 area, and an engineer is working on it. I spoke to a service rep today, and got the same story again, and he had no info on why it was happening repeatedly.
Has anyone else experienced similar outages?

I've checked a few random SK7 postcodes but I can't find any outages listed so either it's something localised ot it's believed to be fixed now. Have they given you a fault ticket number (it usually starts "F00")?

Have you tried the service checker on the website? It will run a line test and tell you if there is a known issue. The fact that you received an automated response and it wasn't an agent fobbing you off means they are at least aware of it.

And this afternoon, the service went down again. I spoke to an agent, who said there were no known faults in our area, and arranged a visit from an engineer on Wednesday. But a bit later, I received a text saying it was a network fault in our area, and then after a further wait, a text saying it was fixed. Since then it has been fine, and I am able to post this message. The Service Checker shows no problems at present, which is not a surprise, but obviously I cannot run it when my broadband is down. Not a happy customer.

If they say it is fixed it is fixed. I have had a couple of very frustrating intermittent outages in the past which have gone on for 4 days but each time when they said it was fixed it was. If you setup a TBB graph you'll know for defo.
