Elon Musk

The line between genius and crazy just got a bit thinner.

Elon Musk and singer Grimes have confirmed they have named their baby X Æ A-12.

As with so, so many other examples the parents never think of the kids, and how they will have to deal with it.

I'm hoping, it was just an answer to get rid of journalists? It's possible (maybe wishful thinking) that this is a very rare occasion where they just want to be left alone, so they thought they'd just respond with some nonsense to keep ppl "happy"/talking?

As I understand it, California is one of those places where there are rules around what you can and can't name a child. I suspect they wouldn't be able to register this as the child's name, assuming of course they have any intention of trying. I suspect it's to be read more as a cryptic clue rather than the actual spelling that will feature on any birth certificate.

It's thought that Grimes may have given birth in California where certain names cannot be registered.

The rules there stipulate that no pictographs, ideograms and diacritical marks for example è, ñ, ē, ç can be used when registering the birth. Names have to consist of the 26 letters of the alphabet.

Neuralink

Quote:

Elon Musk has unveiled a pig called Gertrude with a coin-sized computer chip in her brain to demonstrate his ambitious plans to create a working brain-to-machine interface.

"It's kind of like a Fitbit in your skull with tiny wires," the billionaire entrepreneur said on a webcast.

His start-up Neuralink applied to launch human trials last year.

The interface could allow people with neurological conditions to control phones or computers with their mind.

Mr Musk argues such chips could eventually be used to help cure conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's disease and spinal cord injuries.

But the long-term ambition is to usher in an age of what Mr Musk calls "superhuman cognition", in part to combat artificial intelligence so powerful he says it could destroy the human race.
What could possibly go wrong? https://media0.giphy.com/media/6ozwF...&rid=giphy.gif
