Re: Prob with virgin tv and internet

Sound but no picture is usually a communication problem between the box and TV.
  • Make sure the HDMI lead is plugged in properly at both ends. Try using a different HDMI socket on the TV.
  • Reboot the box.
  • Do a factory-reset on your TV.

What problem do you have with the internet?

Same here. It always seems to happen on BBC1, I know this because the red button prompt remains on an otherwise blank screen.

Not sure what triggers it, but it will happen on whatever channel it is tuned into at the time. It is an HDCP(copy protection) issue. Audio, subtitles, and menus are not copy protected, so are not affected. I would assume those affected have some other HMDI device(eg splitter, switch, matrix) between the STB and the TV.

TV update seems most likely. Check in the menus - it might tell you when it last updated.

That's a good maxim.

If it's a recent LG TV, they don't make it easy. Press the "cog" button, select the “...” icon, select "General", then scroll down to “About this TV"
