Vevo & You Tube App in Mono.
 

Decided to watch Rain by Madonna and noticed that on both Vevo & You Tube apps the sound is mono, yet if I watch it via the app through my smart tv the song is in stereo. (If you watch the video you’ll see what I mean at 3:04 mins)

Is there any reason for these apps having mono sound?

After reading your post I did a bit further investigating and it looks like it could be my HDMI port, I am busy factory resetting my tv to see if that solves the sound out because if I change ports it comes out stereo


UPDATE:

Since doing a factory reset I now have stereo sound

I have a Sony 4K Android TV (KD-49X8309C) and a Sony soundbar (HT-CT290) with wireless sub-woofer connected via optical cable.
