S4C rugby talk show hosted by a drag queen!

This weeks S4C rugby talk show 'Jonathan' was hosted by a drag queen! This might just be a bit of Christmas fun, but i've seen him appear on the show before as a guest, though this is the first time he's actually hosted it.

I'm all for diversity, but wouldn't have thought that these two worlds would have anything in common.

I wonder if this is a continuation of the BBC policy of getting more minority groups on screen? Is this 'PC gone mad', or is rugby simply trying to modernise it's appeal?

It was quite enjoyable, but had little to do with rugby :D

Maggie Noggi is the name of the drag queen.

Are there any Welsh speakers on here? The synopsis says 'Y slalens faw', using a translator this is translated as 'The slalens dirt', so i'm none the wiser. Could anyone explain what this means?

It says "Y Sialens Fawr". The Big Challenge.

The S4C website says:

22:05 Sioe Nadolig Maggi Noggi

A Christmas celebration this time, and the queen of drag, Maggi Noggi hosts pop group Eden, radio presenter Huw Stephens and weatherman Chris Jones. Plus the folk trio Sorela try very unsuccessfully to keep Maggi in check. Throw some glitter over your world and join Maggi and her friends.

23:05 Jonathan: Y Sialens Fawr

You'd expect to see Jonathan, Nigel and Sarra on a rugby pitch, but how will they fare under pressure in the kitchen or will they reach boiling point? There will be tension, shouting and a lot of sweat as all three take on their biggest challenge to date in organising a one-off special event and cooking for 50 people. But who will come out on top as Head Chef?
So were you confusing two programmes or is the guide wrong?

On the Virgin Media EPG the programme is called 'Jonathan' (after the man who usually presents it), with the Y Sialens Faw bit contained within the EPG synopsis.

It looks like Maggie has his own show (the first of the two you mentioned) and then went on to present Jonathan's show.

Anyone who wants to watch it can do so on the iPlayer:
