Sharing satellite capacity
I will shortly be moving to a flat which has only Virgin Media TV services (via satellite dish). There is no TV aerial so I cannot get Freeview. I am a Freesat user and do not which to take Virgin services. Can I get Freesat via their satellite? If so what do I have to do to activate it? I have a Samsung Smart TV.

Re: Sharing satellite capacity
Virgin Media don't do satellite dish services.

Re: Sharing satellite capacity
You seem to have some wrong information there.
Virgin Media TV services are delivered down a cable not via satellite. You need to confirm what connection is available. If it is a satellite connection, you can maybe have Freesat. If it’s a cable feed, you can’t have Freesat. |
Re: Sharing satellite capacity
A twin LNB fitted to the dish would give 2 separate outputs. Many dishes come with them as standard.
Typically under £15, but can cost a fair bit to fit if the dish is hard to get at. Plus cabling of course. https://www.cableforum.uk/images/local/2018/10/9.jpg Cost it up, and then check ebay for complete satellite kits. Some can be found for well under £100. |
