Slow broadband
My 100 meg broadband was working great till the end of may when work on the network in my area was carried out, it then slowed down my main PC is connected by ethernet and is over 100 meg normally.
I rang virgin broadband support many times to be eventually told that my PC was at fault and it was not the network, the fault strangely was only on ethernet which ran at 10 meg I then switched to wifi which ran at 70 meg so I left it for a few days. Today I decided to try ethernet again and it is back to normal running at over 100 meg so I dont think broadband support is not very helpful my PC was not at fault it was the network. |
Re: Slow broadband
If your WiFi was running fast then it's not a VM network issue. More likely that the SH was having a brain fade moment and then rebooted restoring the speed.

Re: Slow broadband
Basic troubleshooting advice and food for thought for anyone reading this for the future: take the scenario above and say we have got multiple devices in a house connected by various means such as wired, wifi, homeplugs, switches, second router etc. If one device is getting pretty much full wan speed and another is getting a fraction of it then the problem isn't with your wan connection (VM's network) because you have proven you can get full speed when the traffic gets out of your house and for all intent and purposes "on the internet". If another device(s) is performing poorly then you need to look to your internal network and start from the device and work your way up the network to the primary router/gateway.
