Virgin Media's CEO's Name is a swear word..

According to the swear filter on their community site, it apparently is.. https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/0...ief_exec_name/

Have I lived a sheltered life? What's a Mockridge and why is it a swear word?

Its not anything, they must just be censoring it for some reason.

Nah, they just don't want anyone to take his name in vain, so now the system prevents anyone writing his name to complain!

I think that while they clearly put them down for comedy value, The Register actually mentioned two of the most logical reasons.
1) It's to stop people naming and shaming the executives.
2) It's some admin having a little bit of fun.

Personally, I suspect the latter. While there would be some point to adding all VM staff names to the swear filter (to prevent naming and shaming), adding that many words to the swear filter would probably slow the site down too much, and it may not be possible (the software may not cope with have several thousand extra words to check for every time someone sends a message). It's pointless just offering it to the execs as, at board level at least, their names are freely available.
