Sadly not getting much of a mention today on the news but sadly there have been fatalities.:(

The derailment looks like it's near to quite a sharp curve and must have been terrifying. My thoughts are with those injured and the family and friends of the poor people who have lost their lives. :(

Initially it looks like a simple case of going too fast round a sharp bend unless some mechanical failure is to blame. RIP those dead.

I thought that trams like trains used a dead man's handle to cover falling asleep, dropping dead etc?

It pretty staggering that the BBC News has been on for nearly 30 minutes and yet there is no mention of the seven that sadly died and over 50 injured in the tram crash today.:(:td:

Its a tram I use regularly and by chance I was in London today otherwise I could of been on it as I get it around these times :(

To be fair this is a local story, while tragic unfortunately the Trump being the next President of the USA can effect us all.

I heard an interview with a passenger on TV local news a few days ago and she'd been forced to email the company to report serious speeding of the tram she was on at that location a couple of weeks earlier. IIRC the company had already started investigating that incident when the fatal accident occurred and they later confirmed that 2 different drivers were involved in the 2 incidents.
