A truly inspirational couple
 

A tragic but totally inspirational, story of a man suddenly struck down and terribly disfigured by sepsis and his doting wife, pregnant at the time, who stood by him all the way, including 5 months in a coma during which she had a child. He awoke not remembering who his wife was and having had his legs, arms and parts of his face amputated.

We've both just been listening to this couple being interviewed on ITV with tears in our eyes. How they've managed to stay together and rebuild their lives in such awful circumstances is awe inspiring. All the more so since they've dedicated so much time and effort into helping others.

If ever there was an example of something that puts things into perspective this has to be it.

It puts things into perspective when I hear how this couple have battled overcome what life has thrown at them. May they long continue to inspire and help others.

Quite. Can anyone imagine how awful it must be to wake from a come to find half your body's been amputated? Then the awful pain of seeing a much loved little girl running away at the sight of you? I'm sure this couple had many serious ups and downs but full credit to them for battling through and especially for the wife/mother for whom it must have been a total nightmare.
