"All 3 tuners in use" logic
I've had a couple of instances recently where all 3 tuners have been in use, and lovely Mrs P has wanted to use VOD. So the popup screen "all 3 recorders in use, you must stop xyz" appears. Except xyz hasn't followed the logic of lowest-priority recording.
So last night I had a play around, engineered a slot when all 3 tuners were recording a series-linked program, and I knew the pecking order of where the links were. When VOD was attempted, it tried to drop the highest priority recording, when a manual 4th recording was attempted, it tried to drop the second one. Nowhere did number-3 get offered. Ok, so when scheduling future recordings the logic of highest>lowest is flawless - and this is a rare scenario easily avoided. But Mrs P wants to use Sky Movies OD while I'm out at the rugby game that's recording on the sports channels, and it will be a night when there's other stuff on, and it will be a film that's not recorded... |
Re: "All 3 tuners in use" logic
I have to fiddle what gets recorded and when to allow all recordings to be made. This mostly happens as many of the programmes I like are transmitted at 9 or 10pm. So I set quite a few to record a couple of days later using the "Upcoming" option, that sometimes means transmissions in the early hours.
Careful inspection of "My Planned Recordings" means I rarely miss a chance to record what I want. |
Re: "All 3 tuners in use" logic
It doesn't attempt to use the priorities for this - it just picks one of its own choice.
All I can recommend is to press cancel, then manually stop the recording you care about least. |
