Even more price increases?
BT has condemned "excessive" new business rates, which it says will push up the cost of broadband services.
The charges start from 1 April 2017 and will increase BT's annual valuation fourfold, from £165m to £743m. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37517561 |

The days of cheap broadband are disappearing fast.

Re: Even more price increases?
I have no problem with them going up to cover investment in infrastructure, that is necessary. To cover increased taxation when the government is constantly whinging about the state of communications infrastructure in the UK isn't so impressive.
You won't something to improve as a general rule increasing the taxes on the companies you expect to improve it isn't the smartest move. Perhaps these guys felt jealous of the Brexit department being able to get away with blatantly not knowing hindmost from elbow and thought they'd join in? |

Re: Even more price increases?
Many towns and cities are moaning about shop closures turning them into ghost towns. So they put up business rates which are probably going to cause more closures?

Re: Even more price increases?
Business rates are being revalued. In most areas that actually means a reduction in tax in real terms. Only in places like London, where property values have gone mental, are there swingeing increases. Overall it's supposed to be revenue neutral.
