How many TiVo Series Links do you have?
 

I'm trying to find out the average number of series links that people have; perhaps this is contributing to the slow TiVo speed in carrying out commands.

I once told a thread that I had about 400 and it was said that this was above the norm, however, i've just read today that one member has 343 and anothet 147.

Could people please pop in the number of series links that their TiVo says they have.

I have 164, and we have had the TiVo almost since it launched on VM, which I think was in 2011.

As l say we have 151 at the last count.

I have about 164 and the good thing is these will import over to the new box

I have about 76 , but I do delete series links when I know a series will not be returning.

I'm going to try and find the time to have a clearout myself to see if it speeds things up.

It's a shame as I always assumed that one of the advantages of the TiVo was that you could have as many SL's as you wanted and leave them there just in case a series ever did return unexpectedly.

I really liked the idea of 'Suggestions', but it seems that the advice is to clear them to speed things up :mad:

I'm much more happy to clear out old SL's.

Could those with less than 100 SL's please let us know if your box runs quickly and smoothly.

Does the person with 1000+ have any severe problems with their box?

Do we know if there is a limit on how many SL's the TiVo can have (or comfortably cope with)?

I turned off suggestions some time ago, as it was not suggesting anything like the series we enjoy and was pointless.

Approx 60 series links and box works fine.

Someone has over 1000 series links.........really??!! :shocked: :)

151 here, but a lot are now finished / cancelled. Need to do a clear out.

Up to last week we had over 250 links, 47% usage and the box was sluggish. Whilst I was away from home my husband kept moaning about how slow the Tivo was and I wondered if the number of links/storage may have been to blame so when I got home on Wednesday I had a clear out of the series links, thumbs and recorded shows I knew we would never watch.

We now have 59 links with only 18% of the 500GB showing as used. (rarely bother recording in HD)

.....and the box is still sluggish!!!!!!!!

I can understand a box suggesting shows to you however personally I'd rather decide which I want to record than have random rubbish recording all the time.

I also dust my TiVo box about once fortnightly, if this is the right topic to drop that in.
