Top flop. Many hoped and predicted but I don't think it was solely the fanbase of Clarkson that led this to doom ( though it did play a big part)
I think as others have pointed out, the failure to create anything new or introduce an entirely new show, rather sticking to the old concept in the majority of places thus the same show with different people. Combine that with the negativity of losing the three that made it the show it was. Throw in Chris Evans being truly awful and that's that.
I'm pretty sure Clarkson and co will be back at some point. I don't think the Amazon show will reach as many people as it should and would fair better on live TV than on demand. That and I still feel Netflix was a better option than Amazon.
Again though, they had the chance to reboot the show and chose to continue instead so it doesn't all lie on Evans even though he is naff.
