No notification of SH 3 dispatch.

Today I am due to be 'upgraded' from 152M to 200M. Because of this VM are sending me a new SH, a SH 3 I believe.

My concern is that on the 'My Virgin Media' page, my update day is correctly shown as today 1st July, but regarding the SH delivery it say that a tracking number has not been allocated yet and to check back closer to the day! Well that day is here!

Is this normal practice from VM or should I be worried. I have taken a day off work to accept delivery and will be most unhappy if it's a 'no-show'.

How else can I check that my SH is indeed out for delivery today?

Thanks.

Why would you take a day off work just to sit in and wait for a parcel? Manchester has a yodel depot to pick up parcels

Because the batteries in my crystal ball are flat. I don't even have a tracking number so how do you expect me to collect anything. Deeer

Because if Yodel do attempt to deliver a parcel today and you aren't in, they will leave a card with the tracking number on telling you they have been and you can either call number xxxxxxx to arrange redelivery or you can pick it up from y.

Tbh all courier that I know (apart from Parcel Force) only do next day delivery so I imagine it will come today and it is just VM which have failed to update their system.

Thank you. That is fair enough.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, when I got my last Tivo box nothing showed on the delivery page, it just turned up about 5pm

Good news, it was delivered at 17:05.

It's a SH 2ac!!

I made the activation call at 17:30 but not working yet, I am on my iPad 4G posting this.

I have connected my laptop directly to the SH for activation purposes. When I fired up Internet Explorer, it took me to a VM page that said, 'we are doing some maintenance and will be back soon'. I guess that will delay the activation signal too.
When I logged into the SH it only has 1 DS channel and the data rate is also zero. Normal I guess until activated.

Sod's law.

New BB is still not activated so I called tech support. She said they are having technical issues and to wait 3-4 hours and try activation again.

It kind of makes some sense because I tried to access my account details to check on the state of delivery of the SH, and the VM website said it was undergoing maintenance.

Just to round things off, after a delay of about 5 hours in activating due to a VM issue, new service is working a treat.

It is just a pity VM didn't update the MyViginMedia page with tracking details as they said they would. I am sure you can appreciate why I was concerned.
