I'm not sure, it's an archaic resource hungry medium (flash too :D) HTML5 is the way forward.

Yep, but they seem to be slowly reducing it's use, replacing it with HTML 5. iPlayer is certainly available in HTML 5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/html5

I have flash disabled in FF by default, just enable it on specific sites when I need it.
