which server for Virgin Mail?
Which server should I use pop.ntlworld.com smtp.ntlworld.com or pop.virginmedia.com and smtp virginmedia.com when using Windows Live Mail?

Re: which server for Virgin Mail?
I used to be able to either of them and I certainly stuck to the ntl one for many years but I seem to recall VM switching over a couple of years. I have just checked my settings and I am using the VM ones now and I only would have changed them if I had to.

np, they are default 25 and 995

Re: which server for Virgin Mail?
Port 25 isn't the current correct setting. For POP it's 995, for IMAP 993 and for SMTP 465

Re: which server for Virgin Mail?
oh, I have got 25 and 995 with ssl selected

Re: which server for Virgin Mail?
Port 25 is still currently allowed to work when you're on your home broadband connection. It won't work when you're not on a Virgin Media home connection.
However the ports have been the ones I've posted since the Google migration and the recent move off Google |
Re: which server for Virgin Mail?
Definitely don't use 25, it's insecure. SSL all the way.
