Question time V Any Questions.

I always watch Question Time on BBC1, at the end it is said that the discussion continues on Radio 4.

I recorded Any Questions on Radio 4 today (which I assume is a repeat from Thursday night) and it's a completely different panel!

Does anybody au fait with Radio 4 know what the position is?

Any Questions is a completely different show. It's not related to Question Time. It tends to be better as well as the panellists have more scope to be interesting whilst the audience are not encouraged to be utter morons so the whole thing is less of a pantomime.

I like them both, but agree any questions doesn't have the idiot audience chipping in.

The audience has just made Question Time unbearable for me. First of all are the moronic questions, then you have the clapping/booing which all leads to the panel playing the audience with soundbites. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3tUqRBiMVo

I wish more panelists where like Christopher (or Peter) Hitchens really. This takedown of Shirley Williams disagreeing with the Rushdie Knighthood because it offended people was perfect: https://youtu.be/pq2HvyaMWf4?t=52

Thanks, I always thought that Any Questions was a retitled audio version of Question Time.

Having looked on Radio 4 at the time QT finishes on a Thursday, there isn't anything there to suggest a programme connected to a radio continuation of QT.

Have I imagined David Dimbleby saying at the end that the discussion continued on Radio 4

But the audience can put difficult questions the politicians on Question Time rather than just the presenter of the show. There is also News Watch, is Points of View still running.

In the end of the day these programes become a bit pointless as no action is every taken they are just informative programes.

It's not Radio 4, it goes on to, it's Radio 5 Live

That's it! Question Time 'Extra Time' I think. It's where the people who were too odd to even to get into the Question Time audience phone up instead.

:D :D :D

You'd think that with the BBC's current financial position they would use the TV QT audio for Any Questions, Any Answers could still continue based upon this.

Not possible - the BBC is contractually obliged to employ both the Dimbleby boys. That's why they get a show each.
