Question for TiVo radio users.
Just found out that the BBC are developing a radio app for Smart TV's, with the eventual aim of this replacing the EPG radio services on satellite and Freeview.
Cable wasn't specifically mentioned, but I imagine that in the long term VM might go down the same route. This will obviously be for TiVo customers only, but that might mean everybody by then! Would this bother people? I guess the one thing that could be a problem to some people would be losing the ability to record BBC radio content. I'm not sure if this is more about modernising content delivery or a purely a cost cutting measure given the financial problems that the BBC currently have. If it works and saves money, I can see the commercial sector following suit. |
Re: Question for TiVo radio users.
Re recording radio programmes, the current BBC Radio app allows downloads of the programmes - a solution to the potential issue.

Is there a limit as to how long one can keep the download before it expires (in the same way that there is for TV downloads)? |

30 days, usually

Perhaps not though, nobody seems too interested in TiVo on the radio! |

I like that Wishlists also pick up radio shows as well as TV shows.

^^^^^^
The same here .... I have a wishlist set up for the other half to record everything it detects with Rod Stewart on it, and on several occasions it has recorded a radio broadcast as well as a TV show |
Re: Question for TiVo radio users.
Given past experience of cr(apps) on Tivo, best left as it is. It'll only slow down access and make the poxy box even slower.

Re: Question for TiVo radio users.
Surely this is an opportunity here to create an app (or reutilise exiting app such as tunein radio or equivalent world radio app like Apple TV has) would open up some valuable space
