No more than Amazon do with their free trial of prime and loads of other companies. They rely on you forgetting to cancel. Therefore I would say yes.

I think what Kymmy is saying is its not a free month, it is only 12 days, which is bollocks, what a rip off, atleast with Amazon you actually get a free month.

I have looked at their website and it actually says a 14 day trial. I think the deliberate confusion is caused by they giving you access to " 1 month subscription package" as they call it. Definitely bordering on the scammy

I hate these "free trial" offers. They relay upon people forgetting to cancel the direct debit at the end of the free period and getting scammed into a contract.

If the product was really that good then the trial should be truly free and only at the month end should the customer be asked to sign up for direct debits for subsequent months.

Many of the major genealogy sites engage in this nefarious practice but at least Genes Reunited and their sister site findmypast you can buy pay-as-you-go credits if you only need to view a few records or want to check out their quality before subscribing.

Just a case of not rising to the bait of the "free" trial misnomer emails
