VM email scam Your latest Virgin Media Bill cannot be processed

I receive an email today saying
"
Your latest Virgin Media Bill cannot be processed
Dear (my email address)
Virgin Media was unable to process your latest monthly bill. Your billing information appears to be no longer valid. Your Virgin Media service is due to be disconnected on 29 January, 2016. If you've made a recent change in your billing information (i.e. change of address, new phone number, new card information, etc.) please update it today to avoid service interruption.

How can I update my billing information?.

Kind regards,

I received this email this morning about my VM account, as there was not my VM account number quoted which if it had been a genuine VM email it always quotes that.
I showed it to the VM shop in Reading and they verified that there was no problem with my account and they said it had not com from VM so it was a scam.
If you have received such a email DO NOT click on the links quoted in the email

Re: VM email scam Your latest Virgin Media Bill cannot be processed

Haha, someone read my last comment about e-mail scams I see.

Nice try scam peoples, but not quite. As stated above (And by myself before), if your payment information becomes invalid, you'll know about it. The fact that this e-mail can't decide what you're missing (Address details, really? It's like VM don't offer fixed line services) is a dead giveaway.

Again, never, ever ever ever ever ever EVER click on a link on an e-mail asking for your details. No self-respecting company will ask for it, and those that do need a slap. Always use your normal channels for communication with companies you have services with and if you're ever in the slight bit in doubt, get in contact via these methods and not via the e-mail in question. Even if an e-mail is legitimate, there's no harm in this practice.

Yes- also had one of these yesterday - eventually decided it was a scam before clicking on anything.
