Christmas Present Thieves Caught On Camera

http://news.sky.com/story/1610550/ch...ught-on-camera

Its Christmas, and the time for goodwill to everyone. But beware, they are people about that don't give a damn, about who they upset.

When you go out. Lock everything, leave a light on or get a timer. Or even a small box that looks like a telly.

This will deter burglars, and even if you have an alarm. Get a trembler alarm that fits on the window.

And DONT leave keys on the table near the front or back door. Burglars can use a special picker to go through the letterbox - bang goes your car

I have four - two at the front and two at the back. And invest in a CCTV.

This is my busiest time of the year, so look each other. if you see anything suspicious call the old bill

Obvious Xmas decorations often mean "we have kids and therefore loads of handy-to-steal presents under the tree".

A neighbour has the curtains open all night, with the tree and presents on open view... and a new 52" TV! They have even left the TV packaging leaning against the outside of the house!

That true, people put out those big boxes which held expensive stuff.

We put ours big boxes in the spare / junk room and cut down or take to dump at a suitable time.

Never mind investing in CCTV, invest in a new house mate! Sounds like a nightmare town. Crime very rare where I am, they are closing the magistrates court through lack of business...

I expect they leave a key under the mat!

Mitcham is grim. Part of the reason why 3 bedroom houses there are a mere £750k.

Nobody can condone theft but some people do seem to be remarkably relaxed about their security whether it's online (e.g. not bothering with PINS , AV etc.) or their property with poor locks, items left in clear view, keys accessible, windows/doors unlocked or whatever.

We have our trusty next door neighbours looking after our place while we are up here with family.

Good idea Den, we do likewise whenever we're away.

If they break into here they are gonna be disappointed.

1# We don't have pressies under a tree (or the tree for that matter)
2# They're likely to meet this resident
