Re: A Message From A Burglary Victim
Indeed.
Sadly, iirc, burglaries increase at this time of year 'cos people have more stuff lying around. |
Re: A Message From A Burglary Victim
And they can occur even in the middle of the day, in a safe area. I'm fortunate enough to live in a very safe area (one of the quieter parts of Bromley), and yet during the summer, my neighbour (who does have a habit of opening ALL his windows) went in his living room to find that something had hopped in through the window, while he was pottering round the garden and his wife was in the next room doing something with their son. Thankfully, they only got away with a few small nick nacks (presumably the 50inch LCD bolted to the wall in front of the window would have been too difficult to remove quickly), but they still got burgled.

Re: A Message From A Burglary Victim
This story is what makes me sick and tired of do gooders who believe that burglars should be educated and try reform there characters.
What characters, they are **** as far as l am concerned. And there again, where are the police at these times, there isn't any. I worked with the vulnerable and l see the sadness, when this happens. And it makes me want to be sick. I go into peoples homes and see the damage that **** do to properties. I have had loads of people say to me 'why me' and yet they go before a magistrate, they get a slap on the wrist. I would urge everyone, Lock all your doors, even if its a hot day. Make sure your PVC doors are DOUBLE locked. Don't leave anything visible, and most importantly don't leave keys by the door, burglars can use a 'litter picker' to get through your locked door. Get your self am alarm for you house. And to double security - put trembeler alarms on your window and door. When they go off they make a racket. I was actually told today by a copper, that if you have a dog, make sure it doesn't bite a burglar ON your property. As the dog can be seized and put down. the law today is on the burglars side. And don't open the door to anyone, unless you are expecting them. Normally councils, Utilities personnel make an appointment. Check there ID |
