Spike Television Channel not on Virgin Media

Spike Television is yet another new channel that is not shown on Virgin media. Sky, BT, Freesat and Freeview have added to their lists of channels that can viewed so why not Virgin.

The channel owner makes their own arrangements for appearing on satellite and Freeview (and all Freeview hybrid boxes).

That said, it is ridiculous that more and more channels are not being added to the Virgin Media EPG- particularly when the channels are available FTA elsewhere.

IMO, those paying for a service should not have to change to another platform to view these new additions.

Blame Virgin's amateurish and snail like negotiators.

Does very well in the ratings though - weekly reach of 1.44 million.

Walking Dead moved to Spike on launch, obviously didn't get the viewing figures they expected, so it reappeared on 5 soon enough.

I think it shows Justified, Breaking Bad, and a few other shows that have done well on other channels in the past that people may have missed first time round.

It is annoying, but of course you can watch it on Freeview with an aerial. This is what I do, and I use my DVD recorder to avoid the adverts.

As far as Spike is concerned, it is full of content that has already been shown on channels we do have access to (or is available on Netflix) so it is not a major issue IMHO.

Of course, those who don't subscribe to Netflix may not be so happy.

Seems to be quite a few channels on freeview that aren't on VM e.g.
Quest
Spike
RT
Moviemix
Movies4Men
TalkingPicturesTV

Fortunately I have access to both platforms, but am beginning to wonder whether I need VM at all.

Quest is on VM ch 172 and even +1 on 173 but I understand the sentiment you are making
