Line Rental
Wouldn't it make more sense if virgin made line rental "free" if you take tv and/or broadband instead of giving customers a discount for having a landline. Virgin customers I speak to are unhappy about paying for line rental as they dont use the phone and prices with or without a phoneline are roughly the same price

Re: Line Rental
PAYG landline service?
Interesting thought, but I can see call costs being hiked for those not taking one of the higher tier talk plans. I have just noticed the budget telecom operator Post Office announce that their Line Rental Saver is going up to £168 a year from February. VM's LRS is still £164. The Landline business is totally crazy now. |
Re: Line Rental
It would take some miracle marketing to spin it like that.

Re: Line Rental
When I first had cable installed by Comtel the line rental was £4.99 per month, ntl took over and the line rental increase and the call charges were 2p -3p per minute depending on the time of day and weekends were 1p per minute.
Virgin Medea took over and the line rental and call costs have increased as have all the other suppliers. That's life. Ken |
Re: Line Rental
The line rental is a good money maker for BT and Virgin at present. As you know in the next few years the Telco side will disappear and VOC will be introduced and i assume with a line rental as well? What cost we wait to see.

Re: Line Rental
Thinking of cancelling my home phone service altogether. Everyone in the house uses mobiles and whenever it does ring no one answers it in case it's a cold caller! Lol
