Just had upgrade to 70M
Did the upgrade online, waited 48hrs, got confirmation email. Upload has gone from 3M to 5M but download is still stuck around 50M.
Do I need to do something else to get 70M? Usually these upgrades go smoothly for me. This is the first time there has been a problem. I have SH2ac in modem mode. Many thanks for any advice! |
Re: Just had upgrade to 70M
What router are you using if your SH2ac is in modem mode?

Re: Just had upgrade to 70M
It's a TP-LINK Model No. TL-R402M. It never had any bother with 50M, was very reliable.

Try the hub in router mode to rule out your own equipment

Re: Just had upgrade to 70M
I have just had a quick nosey around and whilst I can't find a chart for it, from what I have read I can pretty much it is the wan to lan throughput (or lack of) which is causing the issue.
You need to either get rid of your tp link and use the shub as a router or buy a new router and keep the shub in modem mode. These things happen every now and again and you need to move with the times. If you would like a nudge in the right direction I would strongly recommend this over everything else. Think of it as an investment for the next 5 years at a bargain price. |

Re: Just had upgrade to 70M
Hi, many thanks to everyone for the advice.
It was indeed the router causing the problem. I removed it & put modem into router mode, now getting 74M. All devices attached are getting full speed so very happy with routing function. Thinking back, I don't know why I kept the router. I think it was just less hassle than reconnecting everything, especially when it was reliable with 50M. But a wee bit hassle this morning was definitely well worth the 70M I'm getting now. So thanks again!!! |
