Has the price gone up in the past month?

My account says £28.50 for 50mbps but when I go elsewhere I am told my package is 30.25. I was not told about this and I've had this line in 6 months now (if only used for 2 due to renovation)

On the VM forum I signed up and got the activation e-mail but reply, quote and new post are all greyed out so I can't ask on there.

Do you just have broadband - if so there was a price increase on 1st November for standalone broadband

Yes. I was not told about this in any way. I have only found out because of going to my upgrades and offers and seeing this..

but my account says

I should have been given the choice to stay and accept the price rise surely? They ar taking £28.50 from me tomorrow so the next one might be £30.25 but again I was not told.

You should have got a letter or email about it.

Any price rise applies to the next bill produced after it came in.

So in your case you'll see the change on the 13th November bill

No letter sent to me and I don't have a email address set up with you. I do have my email address on file but I got nothing either. I don't agree but I assume it's too late. Now anyway

Still worth a try if you want to leave without penalty.

I will call them tomorrow and see what they say. To be fair they can't really complain about me I did have the SH off for 3 months whilst I renovated my house and still the bill was paid on time every time. I've been probably one of the best customers in the sense I have paid them £85.50 over 3 months and used nothing at all. Got to be better than someone who just does surfing and e-mails lol

Well, I got the contract though today for the service I have cancelled the install on. And it shows £41 a month for upto 200. So the prices are all over the shop anyway. I don't think even VM know what they should be charging

Re: Has the price gone up in the past month?

So if they sent a contract for £41 but charged me £42.50 as per the website - would they be in breach? It's not going to happen as I cancelled it but just wondered..

Re: Has the price gone up in the past month?

Yes you did put it up. And Ben was right it's from this months bill. Was not informed, okay so I missed that and probably can't do anything about it but when the 5% rise comes early next year I'll be outta here!

Existing standalone broadband prices won't change again in February.

Re: Has the price gone up in the past month?

Oh that's good. That almost makes the fact you put the price up and didn't tell me seem ok. Sorry I am on sarcasm overload today

My contract runs out in Feb I just found out - So that'll be it

Why is it that twice a year you put prices up but never seem to get it put into the servie to make it work like it should, and yet my FTTC hasen't had a price increase for over 2 years. And works how it should

Not as many shareholders to have xmas parties and luxury cruises at the other ISP?
