Smart tv connection issues via wifi
Afternoon All. I have purchased two JVC smart tvs from PC World each were supplied with a wifi dongle, and neither will connect to my wifi or via a fixed cable. To cut a long story short, after numerous hours on the 'Knowhow' help desk, I was advised to take the tvs back for a refund. I have now purchased a Hitachi smart tv from another source, again purchased a veezy200 dongle to go with it. This time it will connect via the Ethernet cable, but will not connect via wifi. The tv detects my wifi name, and once I input my password, it will not connect. I have connected other devices via wifi using the same password with no problem. I have contact Virgin media helpline but with no joy. I would be grateful if anyone can shed any light on the possible issue.

Re: Smart tv connection issues via wifi
Do you have any "difficult" characters in the wifi password - some implementations, for instance, were ignoring commas while other allow them.
If you want an "always usable" password, the upper/lower case alpha + numeric are the safest bet - no spaces, as they are another area where some implementations are flawed |
Re: Smart tv connection issues via wifi
To be honest these things & other stuff like android TV Boxes, the wi-fi performance is always woeful compared to Ethernet, so I'd advise that where possible always use Ethernet if you can, you're not going to be missing anything on Wi-Fi (I have a smart TV & android TV box)
