I have every sympathy for this poor guy. But l cannot see what the government can do to stop the lashings that he will get.

The poor guy lived in the country for several years, and must have known about the Alcohol ban

Big thing is other countries bring out these laws and stick with them. Pity this country didn't have the same policy

I feel sorry for the guy, but feel that the poor guy will get the lashings.:(

Bloody Brits. Going over there, ignoring the rules and complaining about it.

He knew the rules, he knew the risks for breaking the rules and whilst I think the rules and punishment are way OTT I am lacking in sympathy for him.

I'm going to sound cruel and heartless here, and I don't mean to be, but if he has lived in the country for 25 years then he knows the law there by now, so cannot use ignorance as an excuse. 350 lashes is a tad extreme though. But you know the phrase, don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

We could always use it as a training exercise for the SAS.
drop them in and see if they can get him out without them knowing.

but yeh. respect another countries laws.
if you can't then don't go and live there.
stay in your own country.

I know. but they're animals that are stuck in the dinosaur age. and if you want to go and live amongst the animals then you know what the rules are of those animals.

Yeah sex with children is fine but woe betide anyone caught having a little drinkie. They are lucky by dint of birth they happen to live on a sea of oil because otherwise the world would have nothing to do with these monsters. Didn't they crucify a blogger the other week to, makes me sick that we suck up to people that behead more people than isis

Erm Saudi Arabia beheaded 87 people in 2014. Pretty sure ISIS managed more than that. Plus all their shooting/burning/crucifying and exploding executions I think they are comfortably ahead of the Saudis in the medieval punishment and general outlook on life.

he broke the law and its reasonable to say he accepts their laws given he lived there for 25 years.
