tivo tip wanted
 

when tivo is recording 2 channels and i am watching a third channel if something on suggestions wants to record on a different channel it wants me to change channels to one i dont want to watch as i am recording or cancel the new recording, can i set the suggestions recording preference to be lower than what i am viewing so it doesnt record them in this instance but without turning off suggestions?:dozey:

There isn't a way to do that at present unfortunately as TiVo doesn't track whether you're actually watching the third channel, or whether the box has just been left on it.

That's why it prompts - it's the 'are you around and watching this' check.

Just be aware even if you turn off suggestions, you may still get the prompt if you happen to end up with three planned recordings due at the same time ;)

Precisely the same reason I turned off suggestions years ago.

I once did ask CS to put forward a comment to the software guys along the lines of 'do not record a suggestion if two tuners are already on' but I doubt it ever found them.
