BT sets date for IPv6 network conversion

The operator informed the 2nd UK IPv6 Council Meeting in London of their plans, which will see the “new” Internet addressing standard deployed to 50% of their national network in the United Kingdom by April 2016 and then 100% by December 2016. The deployment will officially get underway this year with a very “gentle start“.

Re: BT sets date for IPv6 network conversion

The statement at the foot of the article only commits to the network being ready for IPv6 by the end of the 2016/2017 financial year, which would be April 2017 at the latest, with HomeHub v5 users being enabled to use it some time after that, and a vague commitment to enable HHv4 users some time further downstream.

It's good to see they're finally doing something, but it looks to me that it is more likely to be the end of 2017, or beyond, before their entire network is both enabled, and using, IPv6.
