Virgin Media blackmailing broadband customers

... according to Guido:

Quote:

Virgin Media is trying to force customers using their 50Mb Broadband package to sign up to a new contract, by refusing to fix problems with their internet connection if they don’t.

Yeh, something fishy about that article. No provenance to show the communication is genuine, I'll take that with a sprinkling of salt, ta very much.

I note from the link provided that the letter claimed to being sent out is actually signed by a Virgin Media Business employee as opposed to the consumer side of the company.

Ironic since there *is* a known problem with the Business firmware on the SH1 causing lockups. People have reported here that they have been told by VMB that there is unlikely to be a new release of firmware to fix this for the Business Superhub 1, however for many, myself included, even if we did want to move to the 152 Mb/s business service there is still no sign of fixed IP being available with that option.

Nothing would surprise me after some of the shenanigans I've had with VM over this last fortnight.
