Phones and Tablets on my network
I was looking in "This PC" on Win10 and in Network it showed a Sony Experia E2105 and a Lenovo Yoga 8 B600-H connected.
While I was checking my wireless security settings to make sure they were still on the Sony disconnected and another one connected. Security Mode is WPA2-PSK[AES] Passphrase is a 12 letter mix of upper and lower-case letters which would only be known if passed on. As a quick remedy I put four numbers on to the end of the passphrase and within 10-15 seconds a phone/tablet had connected again. For now I have turned the wireless off in the hope someone can come up with a suggestion of what to do. |
Re: Phones and Tablets on my network
Did you try changing/disabling your WPS Pin?

Re: Phones and Tablets on my network
No I didn't - will try that tomorrow when I have more time and can monitor.
Didn't realise that could be used if you used your own settings. |
Re: Phones and Tablets on my network
They aren't really connected.
This cropped up in earlier versions of Windows but something fixed it. I did see it the other day on the first boot of a W10 machine but the phone disappeared very quickly. The Windows Connect service is what is generating them, although it isn't even established that they are 'real'. See http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...fae84cd?page=3 There's nothing to worry about and the security of the system is not compromised. Original discussion in Eight Forums back in 2013, the common factor does seem to be Superhubs... the last couple of pages should help put your mind at ease: http://www.eightforums.com/network-s...why-how-7.html |
