Yes indeed and that is certainly no bad thing.

The films are different prices - even thew new releases. Others are around the same price as new releases on other streaming platforms.

I did notice however that the prices vary from device to device - so streaming HD on the BT box is a different cost to streaming HD on TiVo.

If you assume that two people will be watching the film, then at £5 each it will be cheaper than every cinema in the country. Curzon's prices in London where most of its cinemas are, are more than £10 per ticket!
If we take one recent film, The Salt of the Earth
To rent online £10
To buy tickets at the Curzon Knutsford, Cheshire 2 x £9.25 + £1 booking fee = £19.50. Saving=£9.50
To buy tickets at the Curzon Soho, London: 2 x £14 + £1 booking fee = £29. Saving=£19.00

Free is good. ;)

I'm lucky as my local cineworld is only 20 min walk away and they do monthly unlited passes for about £16p/m which isn't bad if you want to watch a few movies.
Personally i use alternative methods :D

Its cheaper for me to buy the Blu-ray (& 3D), than for 2 of us to goto the cinema.

This streaming method is cheaper than the cinema but, how reliable will it be to stream.

Just tried this new app.

Attempt 1, 30-40 seconds to load only to be greeted by an error message.
Attempt 2, app got stuck on the loading screen with the 12 dots, gave up after a couple of minutes.

The above is precisely the reason why I never get excited about TiVo apps. Absolute waste of time, don't know why VM bother sometimes

It worked for me to watch the previews. Might be worth re-booting and starting again.

Hopefully when the new TiVo is launched, apps will be a lot quicker to load.

Didn't have you pegged as an optimist, OB. Is it just coincidence that Victor Meldrew and Virgin Media have the same initials?
