Packet Loss

For the last week i've been suffering slow performance from my VM connection. Web pages are very slow to load and sometimes failing to load at all.

I've tried a ping test to www.bbc.co.uk which show high levels of packet loss (up to 100%).

However, there are no issues if I switch to my backup adsl connection via Plusnet.

Any suggestions to trouble shoot or do I need to phone tech support (which on past experience will have them blaming my equipment...)?

Re: Packet Loss

Your downstream power levels are too low, and upstream near top of spec. Get in touch with VM on 150 or via their support levels to get a tech out to sort them.

It may not be the exact cause of the packet loss, but it's a good place to start.

Yes, you need to call virgin when you have issues like this.

The pattern of packet loss is indicative of a more severe issue.
