Loved his Christmas shows every year as a lad even had a Pringle jersey or 2 but that was not because of him but my mum dagnammit

RIP

As kids we hated his shows but mum and dad loved all that stuff. I must admit we did laugh very much at Russ Abbot's incarnation Val Hooligan.

My parents loved the shows, I was somewhat indifferent though. I remember the trademark rocking-chair and jerseys.

RIP

RIP. Fun without filth; songs without expletives; sweaters without sweating. Innocent days of yore. Sigh.

Never a fan but he was very good at what he did.

RIP Val

I think he was great. Mind you people think I'm off because I also like Roger Whittaker.

RIP Val

Walk Tall was my first ever "party piece" when I was knee high to a leprechaun.

I am sure we will agree and disagree many times den but, for my part, it is without malice and of no significance when compared, say, to the topic of this thread - the passing of a great entertainer.
