Only seems like yesterday that I saw them live at Lewisham Odeon.

RIP.

A great bass player who will be sorely missed.

Re: RIP Chris Squire (Yes bass player)

I was genuinely devastated yesterday when I heard the news.

He once said that Yes will carry on long after he's gone but I don't believe that at all since he was the only one holding the band together for all these years.

Chris Squire wasn't just a great bass player but he was also a great singer, contributing those distinctive harmonies to pretty much every track they recorded. Regardless of the lead vocal: Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Trevor Horn et al, the vocal was always underpinned by those harmonies and without them it wasn't really a Yes song.

RIP bassman
