Do i need to keep Tivo Connected?
 

Hi all, i recently phoned virgin to cancel my tv service but was told it would be cheaper to keep the tivo on the basic package.

What i want to ask is can i disconnect the tivo box and put it up the loft as id like to replace it with a youview box. Or does the tivo need to remain connected to the virgin network?

The tivo doesnt have to be connected. Im not sue how it can be cheaper to keep it

If you're keeping other services, it is cheaper to keep Tivo on the M TV package.

I guess it helps VM with TV subscriber numbers and they're possibly hoping you will see a show on a channel you aren't subscribed to and up your subscription?

Also, as you have a nice PVR included, maybe VM think you are less likely to go shopping around for a new broadband provider?
