News from Ofcom
People suffering from slow broadband will now be able to leave their provider without penalty.
Earlier this week, Which? hosted an event with the new Chief Executive of Ofcom, Sharon White. She announced a revised Broadband Speeds Code of Practice that has several measures we've been campaigning for. These include - Giving customers more accurate written information about the speeds they will receive. Making it easier to exit contracts if you get slow speeds. We know unreliable broadband speeds drive consumers crazy. That's why 71,000 people have signed our petition for faster broadband and they will welcome these first steps to help. People deserve to get the broadband speed they pay for. We'll keep the pressure on, but I wanted to let you know about today's good news. |
