I am attempting to view Play.com which is now http://www.rakuten.co.uk/.

The site is absolutely dreadfully slow loading up, it took 15 seconds to start to load the page, i thought it was DNS and changed but still the same, can anyone else take a look and see if they have the same issue please. Thanks.

Loaded instantly for me even with my poor TBB graph tonight.

Instant loading here also (North London), tried a few sections of the site with no problems.

Slow loading pages on the site from North Leeds.

mmmmmmmm i wonder if Virgin are having a few difficulties if it seems to affect North Leeds also.

Loads fine for me in Lincoln. Sad to see Play go after all these years, you would have thought they would keep the brand name for the public and for the sake of easy navigation. Are you going to go to play.com or rakuten.co.uk? It is hardly something you are going to roll off the tip of your tongue.

A little slow here, about 10 seconds to completely load the intro page. I've had flyers from Rakuten for a long time formally from play.com.

I thought it sounded Japanese.

BTW if you want see the kana/kanji properly in the quote you need the optional asian font set loaded.

Just tried again from North Leeds - all fine now (each page takes 1-2 seconds to load).

They were play247.com when I joined.

I gave up using them a long time ago, so wont miss them.

Paul, i wont buy any hardware from them after they sent me a hard disk drive in just a padded envolope and wondered why it didnt work.
