damaged street cab fixed

My street cab got knocked over Friday night and amazingly I suffered no loss of service and my connection continued to be mint all weekend. I took some photos on Sunday and posted them on the VM forum and fired off an email to the cabinet team. I got an email this morning with a fault reference saying it should have been fixed yesterday and asked me to confirm. Given the previous comment on this forum in the past I wasn't expecting them to do anything about it anytime soon so I was impressed they got to it so quickly. From the gist of the email I think they were treating as more of a health and safety issue and were worried about getting their asses sued :)

Heh, nice. Fairly simple looking cab with relatively little to break, and no sign of damage to the cables so yeah, not surprised your service kept working.

This one on the other hand...

I was going to say, seems like quite an empty cab. I wonder if it would have even been knocked over had it been full of equipment.

yeah it is very interesting and might explain why connection has always been so excellent (if the utilisation is so low in my area).

Guys that's a line extender / bridge amp cabinet, no customer drops?

General, you aren't connected to that cabinet directly, there'll be one in between.

Perhaps VM should use thicker stainless steel bolts, the ones in the pictures look a bit on the flimsy side.

I thought so because there is another cabinet on the same path/road about 50 meters away

The cover's off one like that down my road and it's a full-on birds nest. You almost can't see the amps and distributors for cables and splitters.:erm:

On the corner of my road just across from me we have Daddy cab, Mummy cab and Baby cab all stuffed to the gunnels.:D

Judging by the number of spare cable ducts, fairly well future proofed, mom General!

https://help.virginmedia.com/system/...LATION_REQUEST

click on something else and then report a damaged cabinet and click on email. It is a form which takes 2 seconds to fill in and if you don't fill it in you will never know if they can be bothered to do anything about it.

We had one here many years ago that was on the side of a curb and cars parking would always hit it. In the end when new flats were being built behind it NTL as it was then ripped it out and moved it from the curb which was a rediculous place to up against the wall of the new flats.

Re: damaged street cab fixed

Now the haters have to knock down the wall of the new flats too just to get back at VM? :(

that would be a great scene in a movie for one of those OTT eccentric characters; they blow up a block of flats just to get rid of the street cab :) I can see somebody like Vinnie Jones doing it.
