Great, so in 2 years when i get my pension that i have paid into for over 40 years i suddenly become a "burden".

Depends how you think of it. Right now many of them are benefiting from having paid lower taxes than we currently do yet by the time many of us reach the current pension age it will likely have been raised another 5 or 10 years.
