Reminder

This might be a silly question, but can you just get a reminder for a program? I know you can record a program and get a reminder, but I just want a reminder that a program is starting while I'm watching another channel.
Does anyone know please

Hi, whilst reminders could be done on V+ it couldn't be done on TiVo so the remind and record was the best option. You would just need to delete the recording after viewing.

Thanks for your reply. Seems a bit pointless to me, why would you want a reminder when you've recording it?
Oh well, we are but the customer. VM know best;)

You wouldn't. But if you've set a reminder, and then missed the reminder going off because you'd popped out of the room, you'll be glad of that recording.

Reminders were around before recording on the V boxes as they were in part there to change the channel on the box so you could use your VCR.

TiVo is designed from the ground up to be a recordable box, therefore the simplest way to add a reminder was to add it to the existing recording functions.

Yes that's the way l see it now especially given how many times family and friends phone throughout the week.
