Bt fibre problem
I have gone on to bt infinty 2 80/20 product and i have loads of faults on the line speed dropping loads of engineers and i have just be told by engineer and his help desk i shudnt of been sold this product cause 75% of my line is aliminium and they do nothin about it gonna go to ofcom and trading standards as i want this products caude that much stuff in house but bt told me i can come out of my contract but i dont want to so gonna go to these peolpe to see if they can help with sumthing but i think it is a shambles selling me this product wen they coulf of told me sorry we carnt.any help would be great or advice guys

There's no point going to Ofcom about it. Broadband is a "best effort" service, so there's no requirement for them to replace your aluminium cable with copper to improve the speed.

when i worked for bt they promised all aluminium cable would be gone by 1989 its terrible stuff it turns to a powder and disintegrates in your hands .

Ask for a lift and shift to another line that might still be OK? They must be able to provide some options surely...

I'm thinking of offering to pay for or share the cost of re-pulling my u/g section as copper.
It is a breach of all technical standards that the correct impedance cannot be maintained across the wired part of the circuit. It's a built in fault and definitely not reasonable or best effort. |
