emails return delivery failure

hi,

why do my emails to some friends return undelivered.
It seems to be to any emails sent to a hotmail address.
This only happens on my mobile(LG3), if i send from my ipad they will deliver.

The email response says sc--01 (snt004-mc2f27) and lots of other stuff including part of the receipent network is on our block list.

doesnt make sense at all.

You'll need to give us more information. Can you paste the entire response email?

Re: emails return delivery failure

That doesn't look like the entire response email, it looks more like just the original email you sent.

Judging by the message you posted previously (which isn't in your example above) it's most likely because your mobile provider's IP has been blacklisted by the recipient network due to high volumes of spam. This isn't surprising and is quite common. You can't fix it, but you can work around it by using webmail.

Here's a question - what are your SMTP settings? Are you trying to use NTL's old SMTP server while on mobile? Because that won't work.

Re: emails return delivery failure

Try SMTP.virginmedia.com
Use SSL and port 465

That is indeed your problem. Those are the old settings, which only works when you're on Virgin's network - so when O2's, it's rejected.

You need to use the new settings, which are more secure and require you to specify your email address and password for authentication. Details here: http://help.virginmedia.com/system/s...MER_TYPE=Cable
